Moon Lake Wolves #2: Caleb

BLURB
Caleb enrolls in college to research his lycanthropy. Desmond, a graduate student, might be his destined mate. Strange animal attacks begin to plague the campus. Is Caleb to blame, or is something more sinister going on here?

Caleb Lyall enrolls in college, hoping to find a cure for the lycanthropy that has afflicted his family for centuries. Desmond Quinn, a graduate student, is more than willing to help Caleb adjust to his new life behind the ivy-covered walls of academe. Immediately smitten, Caleb begins to wonder if Desmond might be his destined mate.

But Caleb's not the only one with secrets on this campus--dangerous secrets. Between animal attacks, blackouts, clandestine cult-like meetings, underground experiments, and midnight rituals ending in madness, Caleb is certain he's stumbled across things he was never meant to know; things that could very well put the man he doesn't quite dare to love in grave danger.

REVIEW
I must say coming into Caleb without having read Darius’s story first was a little confusing at first but I was eased into the story and its characters quickly and with great care by the author’s beautiful writing style.  Jade Astor’s  is a great writer and I will look forward to reading more novels by this author.

The story itself handled werewolves in a more traditional fashion with the once a month, full moon cycle which I appreciated.  I’ve grown a little wary of were-creatures that can change at will.  In a twist that I also like she makes her M/M pairing a lot more equal, there isn’t the typical super butch dom and mousy little sub.  These guys are on equal terms physically, emotionally and intellectually.
There was a solid story, great sex in appropriate proportion and location in the story, and excitement as well as intrigue, humor and of course romance.  I will be grabbing book one of Moon Lake Weres for this weekend!
