Mark Matheson is a rather timid and somewhat introverted college graduate who’s in need of a place to live. He’s just landed his first post-collegiate job and can no longer stay in the dorms. Coincidentally, real estate agent Aaron Culver is looking for a tenant to rent an apartment in the building that he owns and happens to live in himself. The price is right, well within Mark’s budget. The location is perfect. The apartment is suitable to accommodate Mark’s needs. The only problem though, is that Mark happens to have a serious crush on his would-be landlord. Is there any way he can overcome or even conceal his secret fantasies about the successful, confident and very attractive man-of his dreams? Does he even really want to conceal them, and what would Aaron do if he were to discover Mark’s secret? When the two do in fact actually become landlord and tenant, they quickly discover there is more than one way to collect the rent.

THE LANDLORD was a very entertaining book with fun characters and great sex scenes.  It had a typical romance novel plot where you have a guy with a girlfriend who has hidden gay feelings then falls for a man. I admit it had a bit of twist ending I wasn’t expecting which was nice. There is a lot of Dom/Sub activity going on here so if you aren’t into that, be warned.
The editing could have been better however, the cover was terrific (which is the thing that drew me to the book in the first place) and led me to read the description.
Overall, it’s fun if you just want a sexy, easy reader for the afternoon.

After quiet, closeted years working as a librarian, Clayton decides to quit his job and use his inheritance to buy a small bookstore in the gay-friendly resort town of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. It’s the beginning of what he hopes will be a new life free of his old repressions.
Alex, an ex-military man and former cop, decides to retire to Rehoboth and buys a house three blocks from the beach. Determined to fill his time with more than chasing hot guys, he visits the local bookstore, where he meets Clayton.
As winter sets in, the town is all but deserted, and Alex and Clayton find themselves together more than apart. Clayton would like a relationship, but his fear of coming out keeps getting in the way. Alex’s sex appeal might be enough to convince Clayton to take a chance in the open… but it will take something more to make it happen.

John Simpson’s ALEX & CLAYTON is above all, a love story.  There are many ups and down in their relationship including arguments, affairs and wide and varied differences in life experience and personality.
Alex is the definition of macho super stud, retired marine, former capitol Hill cop with all the history those jobs entails.  He also has a wide and varied, and sordid sexual history.  Now he’s moved to a small gay friendly beach resort town to settle down and without warning meeting the love of his life in a small gay book store owned by Clayton.
Clayton is shy and quiet, bookish and easily intimidated.  He has spent his life to this point trying to please others.  He studied 20 years to become his hometown’s head librarian.  He’s closeted and very worried about his mother finding out about his secret until she dies suddenly leaving him everything, not that there is much to be had.  He sells his mother’s house, quits his job and buys a little gay bookstore in a small town from an ad he finds in a gay newspaper.
When a handsome, masculine man walks in and shows him attention he is at a loss for how to act, and so begins the romantic journey of Alex and Clayton.
This wasn’t one of my favorites, sad to say.  The story and the sex scenes didn’t fit together smoothly.  I was expecting romantic love making and got rough trade fuck fest instead. That was really my only complaint with the book.  Clayton’s personality did seem to shift gears a bit toward the end with unexpected results which through me off though.
Overall, a readable book, but not one that I will read again.

Disillusioned history professor Eric Spears has been looking for an intellectual equal for some time and his world is rocked when Arthur begins attending lectures. But with another student getting uncomfortably close, can their relationship flourish?

History professor Eric Spears has grown disillusioned with the academic life he's always been a part of. But when a young man called Arthur starts attending his lectures, he finds his enthusiasm renewed by this unregistered student. For the first time in a long while, Eric longs for a real lover and companion, instead of the casual affairs he's used to. He gets his wish under surprising circumstances, but their blossoming relationship is not without its problems.

Complications arise when Percy, another student of Eric's, begins to take too much of an interest in both of them. Will Eric and Arthur's relationship survive Percy's machinations? Or will Eric lose him due to his own insecurity?

Here is a book I was more than just happy with, I was THRILLED.  It was well written, developed and had an easy flow to it.  The characters felt alive to me. This is an inter-generational romance so if you have a problem with large age differences you may not be comfortable, just a warning.

Eric is a history professor at a college in England teaching an apathetic crowd of students with the exception of the one young man, Arthur, who isn’t even registered for the class, but sneaks in daily to try to better himself because he can’t afford to attend as a regular student.
You can probably guess that Eric develops feeling for Arthur which are eventually returned, it is a romance after all.
The real tension of the story is a trouble maker named Percy.
As you read you will meet other players in this romantic drama.  There is only the mildest of sex scenes which fit the tone of the book nicely.  The romance is the high point, the drama helps move the story and the characters involve you, everything that makes a great novel.  This will be a book that I will read again and again.

A bet dares Zach to seduce any guy his best friend chooses.  Smitten at first sight, Zach forgets it's just a bet and falls madly in love with Len. But then Len's past threatens to destroy their future.
Accepting a bet to seduce any guy his best friend chooses puts Zach McKinney in the path of Len Marshall. Smitten at first sight, Zach forgets all about the bet and falls madly in love until Len's forgotten past catches up with them, putting them both in danger.
For Len Marshall, meeting Zach was something akin to destiny. It not only brought love into his life, but made him feel like he has a home. The new relationship, though, is overshadowed by a past that Len has blocked from his memory and by certain individuals who want to make sure those memories stay buried forever. Can love built on shadows last the test of time? Or will their happiness be destroyed by the same men who took Len's life away all those years ago? Because this time, they're out for blood.
What stars out a as a bet for Zach to win the phone number of a girl becomes far more when he becomes involved in the life of Len Marshall, who at the time doesn’t know that is his real last name.
Mystery romance and family drama flow in this well written and deeply involving romance novel about two young men falling quickly in love.  Oh, the girl?  She pops up along the way.
This is also a novel about family and acceptance, and expectations met and broken.
Nobody who reads this novel will be left unmoved.  I highly recommend you bring a tissue box and not just for a few tears, there are some hot love making scenes along the way too, because that is what they are, love making, not sex.  Have a great read!
